Are musical tastes and talent related?

For example, if you took a group of 100 people whose favorite artists are all extremely talented, for example, The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Mozart, Beethoven, etc., are those 100 people more likely to be musically talented themselves than a group of 100 people whose favorite artists weren't so talented would be?
