Is this a good idea for a woman with cancer?

My former teachers' mom has cancer; and I feel really bad. I was thinking of how to help out, and then I remembered when my grandma had cancer, she had a fleece blanket that she absolutely loved and always had while she was being treated. I was thinking maybe me and some other students could make her mom a blanket; is that a good idea?
