Platonic friends question?

ok, as a female, I tend to answer openly about my dating life to my friends, male or female. One of my male friends, keeps asking about my dating life, but he won't directly answer questions about his. He always answers with changing the subject. He hints that he dates, but then acts like he has no social life a few minutes later. I am not sure if he is into me or what. Your help please!!
