Can I put suede in the washing machine?

Real suede is not machine washable -- it's a treated leather, and often loses color if wetted.. But there are lots of good imitation suedes out there that are machine washable and color stable. Ultrasuede and Facile are two brand names you may recognize. Most are based on polyester and polyurethane and are color-stable.
